From earnings to savings

Your sats are real Bitcoin. How the balance you earn on the protocol becomes savings you hold yourself - a gentle, optional path from everyday spending to cold storage.

The sats you earn are not points on a scoreboard. They are Bitcoin. That changes what your balance is for - and where it can eventually go.

Checking and savings

A useful way to picture the two sides of your money on Rising Tide:

  • Your protocol balance is like checking. It is Bitcoin, counted in sats, that you earn and spend every day: collect a piece, get collected, keep the loop turning. Fast, everyday, close at hand.
  • Cold storage is like savings. Real Bitcoin, in a wallet whose keys only you hold. Slower, longer-term, and answerable to no one but you.

The arc is simple: you earn sats into checking, and as your balance grows, you can move some of it into savings you control.

Your balance is genuinely yours

While your sats live in the wallet the app manages for you, the everyday experience stays smooth - you never handle keys, and network fees stay invisible. That convenience is real, and for getting started it is exactly right.

But it is still Bitcoin, and Bitcoin is at its best when you hold the keys yourself. So the natural next step, once your balance is worth protecting, is to move some of it into a wallet only you control.

Moving to savings, when you are ready

Self-custody means you hold your own keys - no app, no company, standing between you and your Bitcoin. It is the strongest way to own what you earned.

This step is always yours to choose. We will never force you off the protocol or make you manage keys before you want to. A guided path for moving your balance into self-custody is on the way; the important part today is that what you are earning is real Bitcoin, and the door to holding it yourself is open.

Two ways in, one destination

  • If you already know Bitcoin: come in to operate and earn more, then round-trip back into your own custody to hold. You know the drill - this is a light touch.
  • If you are new to all of it: no pressure and no jargon. Earn, spend, get comfortable. When it clicks that the balance you built is real Bitcoin, we will walk you to self-custody one clear step at a time.
