Rising Tide gives writers permanent, ownable pages. Readers collect numbered editions of your work. You earn automatically on every collect - no platform to negotiate with, no payment to chase.

Why this matters

You have probably watched a platform you wrote for change its rules, get acquired, sunset the archive, or quietly demote your work. The version of you that exists on someone else's servers is at someone else's mercy.

When you publish on Rising Tide, the words of your piece, who made it and who owns each edition are written to a public network that nobody owns. The artwork is saved with us until you save a permanent copy of an edition under your own key. When a reader collects, the contract pays everyone in the split in the same transaction. The relationship with your readers is yours, visible across every app on the protocol. The aim is that none of that depends on any single app sticking around.

The shorthand:

• Your pages are on the record. Once published, the record of them lives on a public network that no platform runs. An app, or we, can hide a page from view; what was written to the chain stays in its history.
• Your earnings arrive with the collect. The contract pays your share in the same transaction as the collect. There is no payout cycle to wait for.
• Your audience is yours. You can see exactly who has collected your work, across every app on the protocol - not just the one they discovered you on.
• Your visual style supports another artist. When you choose a template, that designer gets paid automatically on every collect of your work. You compose; you do not negotiate.

Writing formats

Each format has its own structure. The visual template you choose dresses your content - the words are yours.

Haiku

Three lines. 5 - 7 - 5 syllable structure. Numbered editions, permanent record. Each haiku can have up to 100 collectors.

Tanka

Five lines. 5 - 7 - 5 - 7 - 7 syllable structure. The traditional extension of haiku - adds two reflective lines that expand the moment. Up to 100 collectors.

Sonnet

Fourteen lines. Three quatrains plus a closing couplet, ABAB CDCD EFEF GG rhyme scheme. The Shakespearean form, encoded as a publishable smart product. Up to 100 collectors.

Open-format writing

No structural constraint. Publish essays, prose, poetry, or anything that doesn't fit a fixed form. Collectors choose what resonates.

How earnings work

When you publish, you set how earnings are divided. The visual template designer earns their royalty automatically. Any collaborators or causes you include are paid automatically. You keep the rest, paid in the same transaction as every collect.

There is no withdrawal step.

Your audience belongs to you

Because everything runs through the same protocol, you can see who has collected your work, which of your pieces they engage with, and how that relationship has grown over time - across every app on the protocol. That picture belongs to you, not to whichever app introduced you.
