For Organizers
Creating and managing events in Rising Tide Protocol as an event organizer.
Run an event where the tickets are real, the money comes straight to you, and the attendee list is yours to keep. You create and manage events from Profile Hub; they appear in Events Calendar the moment you publish.
Before you start
You need:
- An account with event-creation access (currently granted to the Early Adopter and Admin tiers)
- An approved visual template for your tickets
Reach out to the protocol team to get set up - event creation is gated while the protocol is in testnet beta.
Creating an event
Head to the Create Event section in Profile Hub:
- Fill in the details: title, description, date and time
- Choose where it happens - in person or online (see below)
- Choose a visual template for the ticket design
- Set the price - free or paid
- Set the maximum number of tickets
- Decide how earnings are divided (your share, collaborators, causes)
- Publish
Your event goes live and appears in Events Calendar right away.
In person or online
An event is one or the other, and this is the one choice you cannot change later. Everything else about the location - the address, the venue name, the link - you can edit any time. Which of the two it is gets written permanently into the event when you publish, so switching means creating a new event.
In person takes a venue name and an address.
You do not need either yet. Announce the date first and leave the address blank, then fill it in once you have booked - that is the ordinary way to do it, not a workaround. What you cannot do is announce an in-person event and later turn it into an online one.
Online takes a platform name and a link.
The link is stored permanently and publicly. Anyone can open it, whether or not they have a ticket - so for an online event, the ticket records that someone came, it does not control who gets in. If you need to keep people out, put the link behind something that checks them at the door and share that instead.
Changing the details later
The venue, the address, the link, the name, the description and the price are all editable after you publish. Two things are not: whether the event is in person or online, and the ticket cap can only ever go UP, never down. Somebody who already bought a ticket was told what they were buying.
How earnings are divided
You set the split when you create the event, and every ticket pays out automatically the instant it's reserved - no escrow, no waiting until after the event. You keep whatever remains after:
- The visual template designer's royalty (set when the template was published, for example 20%)
- Any collaborators or causes you include
Managing your event
Once it's live, you can:
- Track ticket sales and revenue in Profile Hub earnings
- Update the description - changes take effect immediately
After the event
Past events stay visible in Events Calendar, and every ticket's ownership and transaction history is permanent and viewable on any block explorer.
