Trophies

What the winner of a match keeps: a picture of the final board, and the match itself as a numbered edition.

Winning a match pays you the pot. It also leaves you with something to keep.

The trophy

When the winner claims the pot, the match itself becomes theirs as a numbered edition of the table: the trophy. It is permanent and it is yours, like any edition you hold - you can keep it, or send it to someone.

Its picture is the result of the match:

  • the final board, with the winning line picked out
  • the winner and who they beat
  • the pot, the game, the table and the match number
  • the date it was settled

The picture is drawn the moment the match is decided, before anyone claims, so the winner sees it straight away.

Where it appears

  • In the game, as the closing frame of the match.
  • On your hub, under Yours, beside everything else you hold.
  • As the match's share card, the picture a link to the match shows when you post it.

A draw

A draw has a picture too - the final board and both players - but no trophy: nobody won, so there is nothing to claim and nothing to hand to anyone. You will see a drawn match's picture in the game, not on your hub, because the hub shows only what you hold.

The artist who drew it

Each game's trophy is drawn by an artist, the same way a page is written on an artist's paper. At a table opened today, the artist is paid a share of every buy-in at that table, the moment the seat is taken, whoever goes on to win. See For Artists for how a template earns.
